A little bit about McCracken Opticians…
Having met just after finishing university in 1992, it was love at first sight for Northern Irish-born Mark and Emily (a Nottingham lass.)
In the early days of their careers, juggling bringing up babies and working in the South East, they initially gained a lot of different experience working in different environments, which included hospitals, multiples, independents and home visits.
However, after a move from the South East to the Midlands to be closer to family, they soon decided that they would love to have their own practice, to be able to offer the time, skills and care that they wanted to be able to deliver in their own unique way.
In 2002 McCracken Opticians was born, taking over from the longstanding and well-respected NJ Rees in the Market Place in Uttoxeter.
After building up a fantastic, loyal customer base, they had the opportunity to move to a larger premises (a former doctor’s surgery) in 2014, and Mark & Emily jumped at the chance. It took them a few months to get it how they wanted, but the end result is worth it as you can see below.
Our current premises gives us the opportunity to provide all our services on the downstairs level where required, including our hearing care partners THCP, and is fully wheelchair accessible.
